It's Been a While

Well, hello there.

It's been over a month since I've posted.  Some things have happened around here, mostly just busy times, but also one devastating thing.  

My sweet 11 year old boxer-mix, Macy, passed away July 8th very suddenly.  It has been really hard to even accept that she is gone.  If you have a nurturing personality and have never had children, you will understand the depth of my mourning.  Until my nephew came along, I poured all of my "mothering" type of love into my companion animals.  After J came, well, the circle widened, but my love for my four-legged babies did not change.  Macy was a baby when Mr. GV rescued her from the local animal shelter, and she and I were very attached to each other.  

The rest of the family loved her very much as well, and she loved us all back.  She especially loved my nephew, and kept guard over him from the time he was a newborn. I could write for many, many paragraphs about her unique personality and all the funny things she did, but frankly it just hurts too much to think about it right now.  And so this is all I can say about her right now.  Perhaps in the future I'll be ready to revisit this, but not now.  

But you know, life goes on!  And so in the next few days I hope to be putting out some posts and updating on the last couple of months.
