Apple chips
I had a few apples that had become a bit wrinkly, had some spots, and well, just weren't the kind of thing you want to put in your husband's lunchbox. My sister and bil had recently used their dehydrator to make apple chips, and I thought I'd try it out as well.
I had about 3 trays full, and the apples were cut so thin that they dried in just a few hours.
Verdict: apple chips are yummy. So sayeth both Mr. GV and myself.
Avid bicyclist, reader, vegan, medical professional, and all-around wonderful husband.

Family members in fur coats:
Max: Lab-mix who came to our house many years ago as a stray. Loves his chewbone and sunning on the deck. (Miss you old boy--August 20, 2011.)
Macy: Boxer-mix who we adopted from the animal shelter. Big baby who lets you know when anyone in the neighborhood walks or drives by. Loves to lay with her head on the bed pillow or sit with you in the living room chair. (Gone way too soon. Miss you forever my Moochie Smoochie--July 8, 2013.)
Callie: Elderly cat who was born in a box in our first one bedoom apartmant in Atlanta. Loves to sleep. (Goodbye sweet Callie, RIP Feb. 16, 2011.)
Gabby: Rescue we bottle fed as a tiny baby. Loves running around in the pasture behind the house.
Pearl: Old lady beagle who was with us for such a short time. Had a hard life before the rescue we got her from. Miss you Pearlie--July 29, 2012.
Milo: Young lab-mix who came to us at about 8 months of age. Full of energy, can't get enough of squeakies and "rattlies", and is so darn cute.
