Epic Road Trip, Day 4

We had a great night's sleep in Hood River the night before, and Mr. GV woke up ready to go mountain biking.  I drove around town a bit, then just came back and hung out on the property, enjoying the sun and perfect temperature.

Eventually Mr. GV joined me.

Later that day, we met up with a local friend of a friend whom we had never met before.  Clem has lived in the area for many years.  He treated us to lunch at the Hood River Inn's restaurant.  We went in not knowing what we would have to eat there, but I hoped with them touting they used fresh ingredients, etc they would be able to accommodate us.

And they did!  Of course I don't have a picture.  I was too shy to take one in front of Clem.  We told our waitress we were vegan, discussed a few options with her, and then she went into the kitchen.  She came out and said "OK, here's what we can do."  And then we were served a delicious and filling stir fry consisting of black quinoa, onion, broccoli, basil, cherry tomatoes, sundered tomatoes, asparagus, and lentils!

After lunch we decided to take a trip up to Timberline to see Mt. Hood.  It was a long, beautiful drive.

And of course it was cold and there was still plenty of snow around!

After that we were wiped out and we drove into our room in Portland, where we would stay for the next 6 nights.
